Project Reality group test
« on: February 23, 2012, 10:09:41 PM »
Really enjoyed tonights games. Some of the best I have had in Arma in ages.
Once we got some formality in comms I though as a squad we worked really well and once we fully grasp the mechanics of the games systems I dont think we will find it so hard.
Really enjoyed that last assault tonight when we started to interact with other squads. In my opinion this is Arma at its best.
We may face limitations as to how far we can go in hosting our own server....I mean the player count needed is going to be a massive expense but I do hope we can be a prominent name in the PR community.

Enjoyed it, too. What I have seen so far: The whole self aid/medic system is more fluid then in ARMAII and ACE. The only big hurdle for me is the steep learning curve (can't see damn enemies) but I got some nice footage from this playtime. :-)

Was good games tonight, really enjoyed it when we were working as a squad. On an other note even if we wanted to run a 50 slot server (we currently have 20 slots) it would cost us £62.50 a month, a financial commitment I would only be prepared to enter into if others do as well.

As I see it we have plenty of time before we have to reach a decision about an iOGC server. If we continue to get bodies on PR I will continue to branch out ant try set up communications with other communities and get our name out there.

;) By cancelling one BF3 server we are have way there and I could commit a tenner every month so with that we have 37.50 ready to use.

I think i'm gonna be a voice of reason here. I enjoyed last night and it was fun. However I don't find the mod has actually brought anything new or exciting to the table. I know it's only beta but it does not feel intuitive, they have added more controls to game that has quite a lot already. The scroll wheel for interaction works great, I don't need a new key to press instead of it. So at this time the PR is not doing it for me ("")

The only major difference was that its PvP and if you dont stick together you get ownd. Aenigma's point about comms is valid but I would add we can't even manage that in 'normal' arma let alone the PR mod where its almost necessity.

Just out of the blue. Even though I didn't attend the group test I had mucked about with PR when it came out and I have to agree with Slib on this one, it doesn't really bring anything new. I would much rather we just got ideas from members and changed insurgency or domination (with permission).

well only part of me would agree with that, Insurgency is good when playing against other people, but PR is playing against other people all the time. It makes the game more difficult given the lack of the 3rd view and streamlines it more given the actual objectives. I must admit I prefer evolution, I always will but that has died of death these days. PR is giving the game a new edge and for this being to beginning of the PR for arma2 and having seen what these guys did with BF2, I think we can be expecting great things from it.

There are good and band things to say about both versions, the normal and the moded. What is important is that were playing as a team again. We can play ArmA without PR and still play against other people, and not just in Insurgency, with restricted weapons, third person vehicle view and many other features can be set to make the play harder. We used to play this way in Arma remember and with Ace. PR has a bit of a way to go yet. Lets wait and we can still play on the TG servers, we just need to find the rite PvP mission on our own server, and start playing together again like we used to.
