from what I've heard. this game isn't very consuming, PC wise, meaning that you don't need a high end machine to handle this bad boy.

but all things considered I'd like to have a semi beast just so it makes this game give me an eye-gasm

Im so excited for this game! My PC is a monster but I wanna play A3 on max settings so another overhaul is in order.

They mention a alpha version for the community? Does anyone know if its available?

Would give my left nut to get my hands on this game.

While ARMA3 has some very nice improvements, I was a little disappointed with the physics demo.
I know theres so much going on under ARMAs hood, but realistic physics are a must for a sandbox game.

Im sure the new version of PhysX will be plenty good enough for Arma3.

In response to your question Prod the community alpha "should" be available in the next couple of months. Im sure they said "fall" this year.

Looks like DayZ standalone will not be based on that engine, but borrow bits of it. Rocket has said that it would be using an "Arma 2.5" engine. Basically no new shiney graphics yet for the mod.

Yeah rocket did say it will be "real virtuality 2.5" but he also said better graphics are easy enough.

I don't quite understand why Physix is a big deal for some developers, Havok does everything you need and it doesn't need you to have a certain brand of gpu.

PhysX doesn't require a nVidia GPU. It just requires a nVidia GPU if you want to run a dedicated card for PhysX. If you use AMD/ATI Gpu's it will just send all PhysX work to the CPU.

Yeah but that's the point of PhysX to offload it from the cpu to your gpu, it's meant to give you smoother gamplay. But havok will do just as good if not a better job and doesn't hog your cpu.
i may not have made the point very well but thats what i'm getting at.
