My Uni Music
« on: April 25, 2012, 10:13:15 PM »
Hey guys here's two tracks I had to write for my composition module at uni. We had to write two commemorative pieces based on Wilfred Owen's Anthem for a doomed youth or the Japanese tsunami disaster  totaling 13mins  or both I chose both

This one is the Owen piece obviously set in commemoration of WW1 well kinda of follows the narrative of the war itself. It's an orchestral piece and the longer of the two.

This one is the Japanese Tsunami piece more electronic noise driven quite experimental.

Superb works mate, absolutely. I loved the track based on Owen's poem particularly. The second track is great, some undertones of vangelis "bladerunner" synth there? Very impressive.

Cheers for the input guys, I seem to always chuck a Vangelis synth in somewhere. Gotta love some classical here and there Hans as a musician think your doing yourself a huge disadvantage if you don't take something from the genre. Some great contemporary composers out their like Max Richter and Ryishi Sakamoto

@Slib
I use Reaper for my sequencer,First track is mostly Synphobia and Kontackt, the second is Gforce minimonsta and absynth with a free tape delay vst used a lot of samples from freesound.org

Indeed there is a lot in there, I particularly like "Platform 79", you can hear a lot of your gaming influence bleeding into your music mate.
